Reserve a Book

The Library offers two ways to reserve items online. You can use the online catalog, or the Online Request form.

The Online Catalog

After you’ve used the online catalog to find the item you want, click on the “PLACE HOLD” button.

Please enter your barcode on the back of your library card without spaces. The password is PATRON in capital letters. (Please note that you can create your own personal password by clicking on “My Account.” Click on “User PIN Change” and follow the directions as prompted.)

Choose to pick up your book at the Winnetka Library or the Northfield Branch.

Click on the “PLACE HOLD” button to finish.

Online Request Form

Use the online request form at the bottom of this page if you know the title and/or author of the books (book on cassette, book on CD, videocassette/DVD, or music) that you want.

At the bottom of this page, choose the number of books you wish to request and click on the "Select" button. You will then be taken to the Online Request Form. You need to fill in all the fields in bold. After you have filled out the form, click on the "Submit Form" button. Please note that by pressing the "Clear Form" button you will erase all the information on the form.

You will receive an e-mail within 24 hours confirming that your Online Request Form was received and processed. The Library will call you once your book (book on tape, book on CD, video/DVD, or music) is available for pick-up. You must pick up your book either at the Main Library or at the Northfield Branch.
